Have you ever heard of the phrase, “If you knew how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought?” This was said to be stated by American peace activist Peace Pilgrim who, beginning on January 1, 1953 walked more than 25,000 miles - and had stopped counting at 25,000 miles - for 28 years across the United States to spread awareness about nonviolence solutions and peace. Pilgrim was a brave individual who had a message, and wanted to communicate said message to the world.
Do you think while she was on her voyage she thought to herself that no one would listen? Do you think she had self-doubt? Do you think other people tried to stop her because walking thousands of miles with no money and not even asking a soul for food or shelter was dangerous? Regardless of what was going through her mind, she kept going. She did not stop no matter how tired or hungry she may have been. She did not give up.
Once you put your mind to something, you are virtually unstoppable. No one can stop you, but yourself.
I believe we as human beings really do not realize how powerful our thoughts and the words we speak truly are. I have always been a firm believer in manifestation and the more you think about something, it will reveal itself into your reality. We are manifesting everyday. Think about it; have you ever thought about someone and then they called you out of the blue the next day? Have you ever been singing a song and then an hour later you hear the same song on the radio? This is manifestation - the process of birthing something into your reality through beliefs and positive thinking.
If you have negative emotions or thoughts about relationships and how they never work out for you and the people you fall in love with fall out of love with you easily, then you will continuously manifest those relationships into your reality. Subconsciously, you believe you can’t find love or love doesn’t last long enough for you to enjoy it. This is your dominant assumption. It should be noted that if you are constantly feeding your mind negativity, you will continue to manifest more negativity. Whatever we believe shall come to pass, so why not believe that you do deserve good things? Until you change the perception you have on relationships and yourself (aka your “self-concept”) you will manifest horrible experiences.
My advice?
Fall in love with yourself. Fall in love with the way you look, how amazing you are, how empathetic and kind you are, and how intelligent and how much of a go-getter you are. Step into your queen or king energy. Once you embody this new state of being, your perception on love and relationships will shift. You are an amazing individual, so why wouldn’t people love you? Why wouldn’t your relationship work out? Once you realize and are adamant about the fact that you are worthy of love, love will find and stick with you.
This new mindset does take time and you will have hiccups, but don’t beat yourself up about it. Dr. Maxwell Maltz wrote in his book Psycho-Cybernetics, “It takes 21 days for a habit to form and become automatic.” Changing your way of thinking about something that you’ve programmed your mind into believing will be a process, but it does not have to be a lengthy one. If you commit to doing the work and focus on loving yourself more and more each day, it will become much easier.
Just in case you needed a reminder; you are worthy of the love you desire. You are loved and lovable. And most importantly, you are capable of anything you put your mind to.
