The Homegirl Approved Playlist is exactly what it sounds like - a collection of tracks curated into a personalized setlist based on whatever mood you may be in and occasion. If you’re getting ready for a night out with your friends, a little Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Glo-Rilla will definitely get you in the dance spirit and prepare you to step out like the boss you are. Just broke up with your partner, and feeling down in the dumps? No worries. There’s nothing Tink, Kehlani, and maybe a little Future can’t cure. Whatever the goal is, The Neighborhood Homegirl has your back.

Now, let’s get into the…

No More Sad Girl Playlist

I remember when my ex cheated on me, and after creating a broken-hearted mess and forgiving him in an attempt to “work” through our differences, told me these exact words: NO MORE SAD GIRL. Excuse me, you literally just ripped my heart out of my chest and stomped on it, and now have the audacity to get frustrated with me as I try to cope with the pain YOU caused. The random crying and relationship validation was “too much” for him at the time, and because I was “bringing his mood down” when we would hang out, he thought calling me a “sad girl” would somehow erase the rummaging thoughts of another girl in his bed. I guess because I decided to stay in the “so-called relationship,” that my tears weren’t warranted anymore.

Enough was enough, and after some time, I eventually picked my crown up and left the entire situation.

The No More Sad Girl Playlist was created for those who were or are currently in relationships that no longer serve them. It’s for those of you who are with someone who invalidates your feelings, going through a heartbreak, or needs to hear some words of encouragement or even some toxic, but relatable lyrics, by your favorite rap and RnB girlies.
