Adding eyelashes after you just completed your makeup look instantly turns on your inner baddie. That baddie who just worked an 8 hour a day/40 hour week shift. That baddie who just finished their final exam and is now ready to have a night out with their girls after canceling on them because they had to study. That baddie who just got freed of that toxic relationship and is now ready to step out and show the world what they’ve been missing.

You’re in the mirror and the final step is to add those lashes and you are ready to go. Only problem is your eyelash glue and your false lashes are acting like arch nemesis who just encountered each other after months of talking mess about each other online. In other words, your lashes won’t stick to your eyelids. The audacity!

Now I’ve heard of people using all types of glues to apply their lashes - including hair bonding glue. That I could not believe; I instantly went to YouTube and Google to research if people were actually using hair glue to apply their lashes, and to my surprise, they were. After watching and reading up on this, my brain instantly said “no ma’am.” I preferably wouldn’t feel comfortable using hair glue anywhere near my eyes, but to each their own.

When I first learned to put on my lashes post break-up, they made me feel confident. An ex- friend and I would go to Elf, buy some lashes, and ask one of the makeup artists to apply them for us. We didn’t want to overstay our welcome and attempted to just learn ourselves. When we asked what glue we should use, her response was “Duo Brush On Striplash Adhesive.” Granted, I knew nothing about makeup, but what I can tell you is that for a beginner putting on my eyelash strips for the first time and having them semi look like I’ve been doing this all my life, I felt accomplished.

Duo comes in clear, dark, and gray adhesives. The label says that it is waterproof and lasts all day. I can attest that my lashes stay on for hours without me having to reapply lash glue. It also contains vitamin A, C & E.

It can be purchased at almost any beauty retailer including Ulta Beauty and Sephora. Most retail stores sell them as well including Target and Walmart. It can also be purchased online via Amazon. This glue costs anywhere between $6 and $8. Reasonable and easily attainable; I think you snagged yourself a deal.

Trust me, your lashes will thank you.
