If there’s one thing Kehlani is going to do, is put on a show! It’s the day after attending her “Crash World Tour” and I am still vibing to the music I heard last night.
Last night’s October 30 show took place at the Kia Forum. The weather outside was frightful, but the fire was so delightful…meaning it was a bit chilly, but after leaving the concert, you completely ignored the fact that your legs are freezing because of how much fun you just had minutes prior.
So let’s get into the concert. After walking in through security, utilizing the Forum’s walls to take selfies, using the restroom because we did not want to leave mid-concert for a toilet run, and getting a drink, we finally headed to our seats. Side note: Dodger fans were outside watching the World Series as they waited for Kehlani to perform. The Forum is a pretty huge venue. My friend and I sat in the 100 section, and had a pretty good view. But honestly, the vibes were on a thousand last night so it did not matter where you were seated.
The show started off with rapper Anycia. Her stage presence is amazing and she is hilarious and one hundred percent knows how to keep a crowd entertained. Next, British girl group “Flo” performed, whose vocals are extremely captivating. Fun fact, while they were performing, the crowd found out the Dodgers actually won!
Flo finished their set around 9pm, and while we waited for Kehlani to take the stage, we enjoyed her music over the speakers. Not to mention, the crowd was super amped because the Dodgers won. Attendees were yelling "Dodgers" and the joy of being from LA was super evident at that moment. A little after 9pm, the music stopped and the show began!
She entered the stage wearing a plaid skirt and white beater and was ready! She has been eating her concert looks all tour, and last night was no different. The entire night fans heard music from her previous albums and mixtapes such as “Toxic,” “Can I,” “Nights Like This,” “Water,” and music from her latest projects “Crash” and “While We Wait 2” which included songs like “Crash,” “Next 2 U,” “Sucia,” “After Hours,” “What I Want,” “When He’s Not There,” and so many more.
In the middle of the show, Kehlani surprised us with a few musical guests. Tommy Richman hit the stage to perform his single, “Million Dollar Baby.” Next, 310babii came out to perform “Rock Yo Hips” and his breakout song, “Soak City.” Last, but definitely not least, Ty Dolla Sign popped out to perform “Paranoid” and before he could leave the stage Kehlani told him to give us “another one,” which he surely did as he had the crowd singing along to “Or Nah.” Before these acts left the stage, Kehlani expressed how grateful she was for each of them coming to support her and how they are dominating the music game.
During the performance to Jordan Adetunji’s single, “Kehlani,” she invited children, aged 12 and under, on stage with her. She also brought out her adorable daughter, and some of her friend’s children to dance to the song. This was a #proudmommymoment, as she expressed how happy she was to see her daughter on stage dancing, and vibing to her music.
I can’t mention the concert without acknowledging how amazing her band and dancers are. You can tell how comfortable everyone is with each other because the stage chemistry was definitely there.
Overall, I would definitely attend a concert of hers again. Everything from the dancing to the lights to the crowd’s enthusiasm was on ten the entire night. After hearing her final song, “After Hours,” hearing her thank her band, dancers, and fans, we walked out of the Forum in the best mood - as did everyone else. All you could hear was people commenting on how much fun they had.
