If you are a fan of any and everything Jazz, then this is just for you

Taking place on the rooftop parking deck at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw on August 31 is the 5th Annual Leimert Park Jazz Festival. Doors will open at 11:00 am and performances begin at 12:30pm and end around 8:30 pm.

Fans can enjoy the sounds of The Stanley Jordan Trio, Billy Childs Trio, Justo Almario’s Afro-Colombian Ensemble, Gilbert Castellanos Quintet, Chris Powe Quartet, and the Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center Jazz Band, performing the music of Freddie Hubbard who will be joined by very special guests, Nolan Shaheed on trumpet and George Bohanon on trombone.

Past festival performances included, Patrice Rushen, Ernie Watts, Albert “Tootie” Heath featuring Jacques Lesure, Sy Smith featuring The Myron McKinley Trio,  Michael O’Neill & Friends, and many more. This translates to: you are in for a treat!

This family-friendly event is free and open for all to enjoy. VIP tickets are also available to purchase in advance. DJ Jose Rizo and comedian Ron G will serve as co-hosts for the festival.

Attendees will be able to enjoy the creative work from the Visual Arts Pavilion, the festivals’ art competition winners and finalists. There will also be a Beer & Wine lounge for connoisseurs to indulge in which will also have food options available. Food can also be purchased in the food court inside of the mall. The festival will also provide a kid’s zone for children and teens to have some summer fun in.
