Grab your friends and water bottles, because on September 22, 2024, Los Angeles-based Black and Brown 501(c)3 wellness organization WalkGood LA will host their “WalkGood LA Park To Playa Trail 5k Walk/Run.”

The event will start at Kenneth Hahn Park State Recreation Area with the opening ceremony starting at 7:00AM. The race starts at 7:15AM and ends at 10:00AM. There are race shuttles available for participants that will run roundtrip from Metro LA Cienega parking lot to Kenneth Hahn beginning at 6:00AM. Participants can enjoy the beautiful views of the Pacific ocean as well as the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overview, Baldwin Hills & Urban Watersheds Conservancy, Stoneview Nature Center, and more.

WalkGood LA was founded in 2020 Etienne Maurice, Marley Ralphs, and Ivy Coco in June of 2020 in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter Movement. It started off as a few minutes of breath work and yoga meditation, and turned into a safe space for the community to find healing during those difficult times.

5k walk/run fees are $48.70 for adults and $36.78 for children ages 1-17. Registration ends September 24, 2024 at 11:59PM PDT.
